Congressman continues to play pundit instead of work for Iowa
DES MOINES – Appearing on Face the Nation, Congressman Steve King chose to play Republican pundit. King was so much in character that he forgot to mention Iowa, the concerns of his district, or what he is doing on behalf of his constituents.
“Congressman King has forgotten the people he represents. As a full-time Republican pundit he is more concerned about the latest political gossip than producing results that help his constituents back home. In fact, he has completely forgotten them,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chairwoman Sue Dvorsky. “Although, once you look at Steve King’s record, you’ll see that he doesn’t have a lot of results to brag about.”
The same day that King was appearing on Face the Nation, he also told the Omaha World Herald that he stands by his vote against disaster aid following historic flooding along the Missouri River. King told the paper he stands by that vote, which would have prevented billions in disaster aid from reaching those in need.
“The 4th Congressional District deserves someone who will finally put them first and remember to mention their state on national television. Unfortunately Congressman King has blinders on when it comes to addressing their concerns or going to work for them in Washington,” added Dvorsky.
